Cooking for your girlfriend doesn't just end at preparing the meal and serving it near the fireplace. There's an art to pleasing a woman because believe it or not, women are extremely romantic at heart. Even the smallest gesture by the man she loves and adores can make her day. And trust me when I say this, anything and everything that you do for her, she's never going to forget it (even the bad day). So if you have planned on cooking her a fabulous meal, think about what all you can, should, and will do for her, and then think some more. It has to be absolutely fantastic and completely different from who you are as a person. Many a time, women complain about their guy not being more romantic or spontaneous enough.

An intimate dinner for two makes up for everything, and is a wonderful way to show her how much she means to you. But cooking a meal doesn't just end at what the menu is going to look like. There's a lot involved in preparing a meal for the love in your life. And to help you get started, we have put together this article on how to cook for your girlfriend. In this article, you will see what all is required to make the dinner the best one, yet.

A Way to a Woman's Heart ... A Delicious and Romantic Dinner

You don't need to be Gordon Ramsey or Jaime Oliver to please your woman with your culinary skills. As a woman myself, I can vouch for the fact that when a man cooks for us, we don't necessarily stress on either taste or presentation. The more attractive, romantic, and unbelievable factor is that you cooked, for us. However, you'll definitely get bonus points if the food did taste delicious. Anyway, when you follow the recipe to the T, you can easily get the flavors mixing well.

Choice of Cuisine

1) First things first; what is her choice of cuisine. Is she a fan of spicy foods? Then cook her a romantic Mexican food which includes fajitas, quesadillas, nachos, or even enchiladas. On the other hand, you could go with other ethnic foods like Moroccan, Indian, Mediterranean, Chinese, or even Thai. The point is, this dinner is specially for her. So the menu should center that ideology.

2) Once the cuisine is finalized, move on to the actual dishes you're planning to cook. Is she a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian? Does she love seafood? Research on the various dinner recipes for her and see which ones are easier for you to make. Don't select complicated recipes or else you'll end up making a mistake.

3) How many courses of meal are you serving? Depending on that, get a pen and paper to write down the list of ingredients you'll need. If there are certain ingredients that might be difficult to locate/purchase, skip the recipe and replace it with something else. You don't want to spend time searching for ingredients. It is better that you save enough energy for cooking.

4) Next, you will require drinks to wash down the food with, right? So... what are her preferences? Does she love wine? Or she leans more towards a martini? If cocktails are her stress busters, then that's what is on the drinks menu. Help her relax, unwind, and excited for the dinner which will follow.

Don't Forget the Dessert

1) After the main course is finalized, the dessert menu needs to be decided. If she likes dessert then you've got your work cut out. Desserts are one thing you can't or shouldn't go wrong with. They have to taste, look, and feel just right. So be very careful while planning the desserts.

2) Are you going to make one or two desserts? I'd say go with two because if there are any errors or issues with one dessert, at least you have something to serve. Of course, you should go with what she loves for dessert while making the decision.

3) This is my suggestion for desserts. Keep the first (main) dessert something extravagant like tiramisu or delicious chocolate lava cake. As for the second dessert (which you have in front of the fireplace or out on the porch, underneath the moonlight), go with either her favorite cake or pie. If both desserts came out excellent, she has more to love you for.

A Romantic Ambiance

1) Cooking doesn't end here. You need to be careful of the settings as well. Choose a location very carefully because it only enhances the entire dinner experience.

2) You can cook at your place and put candles and rose petals all around the dining table. Hands held in the glowing candlelight, delicious food that you made, and the company of the most beautiful woman in the world; can it get any better than this?!

3) Other option can be a wide balcony or backyard where you can be more creative with the decoration. Apart from the candles and flowers, you can go with Christmas lights and a music system, playing her favorite songs.

Cooking isn't rocket science and if you put your heart and soul into it, you might just surprise yourself and the one you love. Use your imagination, put more thought in the menu, and be very careful while cooking. Follow the recipe correctly and it's going to be a piece of cake.
