"There is no remedy for love but to love more." - Henry David Thoreau
Clichés aren't bad after all!
Well, you can say some things are clichés only because they're used way too often. But then, they're a guaranteed bet. One among these, is a candlelit dinner. Having a romantic candlelight dinner is said to be one of the most intimate experiences a couple shares. This just gets better if you arrange the dinner at your place and cook the food yourself. A good bottle of wine will just be the cherry on the top!
It's the small things that matter...
A candlelit dinner, or anything that extravagant can be arranged only once in a while. However, there is a need to show love often, isn't it? There are a lot of small, lovely things you can do to impress your lady love. Drop her a message everyday in the morning and in the night. Leave a card for her outside her apartment. Show up with her favorite flower without an occasion. Take her on a drive and watch the stars!
Passion is the Bull's Eye!
Right from the way you talk about your relationship, to the way you plan things with your girlfriend, let the passion be visible. You don't have to do this 24x7, but when needed, you HAVE TO. Flaunt her, flaunt your love for her and let her know you're willing to tell the world how precious this relationship means to you. Go down on your knees at least once, dedicate a song to her in a pub, sing for her and make her feel wanted in every way you can.
For her, romance is YOU!
Girls asking for more and more time and not getting enough is a fact that we just can't deny, can we? This is because for us, our romantic halves are nothing but love personified. More of it only completes us, and makes us more stable to tend to the small problems in the relationship, when you are busy winning the world for us. Spend time with your girlfriend because you can, not because she wants you to. Go for movies or plan a fitness activity, a small trip every month will also be great!
When it's least expected...
Simple things turn special when they are least, least expected. Give her gifts, no matter how ordinary, when she's not expecting them. Show up at her doorstep with dinner once in a while. Pick her up for ice cream when she thinks you are busy somewhere else. Let her wake up to a nice message every few days. Get her favorite chocolate just to show her that you know what makes her happy and are trying to do just that.
Unique is Fantastic!
Now we've spoken about clichés and all things that are common. Time to do something different! Give your girl a gift basket which has an assortment of things that she loves. A few of these things can be her favorite perfume, her favorite chocolates, movie DVDs, a coffee mug, and a small letter from you.
Have the lyrics of a particular song made you think about your sweetheart? Words are often underestimated. The combination of romance and a few well-said words is simply fantastic! Call your girlfriend one night then slowly, and very genuinely recite a few lines from a poem/song that you think is something that you would say. Don't just go for the famous ones, she probably knows them too. It has to be something she hasn't heard before.
Relive your Memories with her!
"What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that's gone forever, impossible to reproduce." ~ Karl Lagerfeld. With the lifestyle that we live today, it is very easy for us to forget memorable moments. Reminding your girlfriend of such memories can be very romantic. Make a movie, write a letter, or literally take her for a walk down memory lane. Do what it takes to make her recollect all the love, and fall for you, yet again.
Captured moments and more...
Reliving memories is just one side of the coin. The other, more important part is creating them. One romantic and fun idea, is arranging a photo shoot for both of you as a couple. Hire a photographer and ask him to click you guys at different locations. Many couples do this just before they are about to get married and it's a brilliant idea. Go to places that hold a special place in your hearts and get yourselves clicked. You'll only add to the reservoir of lifetime memories.
Romance, if not kept alive, fades away eventually. The simplest way to keep the spark alive, is by doing what your heart tells you. Think of her? MSG her. Feeling like talking? Call her. Want to see her? Don't call, drop in. Like something for her? Buy it. Remember, Life is too short to plan everything.
